Spicy Black Beans

Cooking Time: 2 hours 30 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

1 pound dried black beans, rinsed and sorted 1 onion, chopped

4 garlic cloves, minced

2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and minced

4 cups chicken or vegetable broth

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Directions:

Preheat the sous vide water bath to 185°F (85°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the black beans, chopped onion, minced garlic, minced jalapeno peppers, chicken or vegetable broth, olive oil, ground cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Mix the ingredients until well combined. Transfer the mixture to a sous vide bag and seal it.

Cook the bag for two and a half hours in the hot water bath. Remove the bag from the water bath and let it cool for a few minutes after 2 hours and 30 minutes have passed.

Transfer the black bean mixture to a saucepan after opening the package.

On a stovetop, cook the black beans over medium-high heat until well heated.

Warm Spicy Black Beans should be served in separate bowls with fresh cilantro cut on top.
